Day 3: ‘ It’s raining, man♪Hareruya♪’ by Spice Girls?? (晴れるや?欧米か~!!)
No. of temples: 23rd ~ 27th
Weather: Rain, rain, rain...
Distance: ≒ 350kms
Song of the day: ‘Sing in the rain’ by Frank Sinatra
Day3 started in rain condition. As I do not prefer to ride in rain with my bad compeating experience, decided to take a safe option as TRAIN (cheating??)!! I slept badly the night before, I felt the right choice. Ate the first Udon (typical noodle from Shikoku Island) breakfast to get going in the morning.(I ate too much!!;0)
The 23rd temple was right beside the station. After visiting the 23rd, I checked the train time table, the next train was scheduled 2 hours later!!!(Which part of Japan is that?) So I decided to hitch on road with my composed bicycle. Many people were willing to take just me, not with my poor bike…But one couple of Henro from Tokushima Pref. said OK to take me and my bike.
We enjoyed talking about Henro on the way to the Muroto Cape and visited the 24th, 25th and the 26th temple called Kongo-ji, with its 300 steep stairs. (See the photo below)The Pacific Ocean at the other side of Japan looked so different like 200degs wide horizon, rocky and rough waves which were good for surfers.

After saying good-bye to the kind couple, it stopped raining. So I pulled my bike out of carrier. While fixing the puncher, a girl pulled over her car and asked me if I needed a ride. Giving me a ride to Kochi City was kind already enough, she took me to the 27th!! How kind!!
We stooped at a modern café which was build over the cliff. I pre-studied the building on a magazine before. I really liked the façade of building which suited with ocean view.
I was dropped at Kochi Station, and searched a business hotel to rest. A lady at the hotel reservation center told me that there was a nice dining place at a fish market, opened until 12pm. (See the photo below)There, had all variety of food and beverage I wanted to eat and drink. People from Kochi were nice to hang out with drinks.
On the Day 3 became the nicest day, even in the rainy condition. I discovered the warm hospitality among people from Kochi Pref.
